Dear Readers ...
.jpg)
For you musical comedy-buffs,
you may recall a Broadway
musical "Side Show" - with a
most lovely score of songs by
Henry Krieger, Book & Lyrics
by Bill Russell - and though
plagued with some story
content on circus folks,
deemed 'not politically correct'
and thereby, not produced
much anywhere in the US in
recent years.

However, the La Jolla Playhouse,
has promised a "re-imagined
new production" of SIDE SHOW,
as directed by Bill Condon ... go
SEE IT on Nov 5th thru Dec 15th,
if only for the stunning musical
score!

Speaking of La Jolla Playhouse,
if you might have wondered
whatever happened to Dale Morris,
who bravely published the SD
Theatre Scene for many years ...
and has been trying to get his
one-man tour-de-force "W.C.
FIELDS By Himself" up and going,
Dale now, can be found as the fine
actor he also is, at the La Jolla
Playhouse - in HIS GIRL FRIDAY.

Dale Morris

Based on the hit DreamWorks film, and the incredible true story that inspired it ... CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, is the high-flying, splashy new Broadway musical that tells the story of Frank W. Abagnale, Jr. - a teenager who runs away from home in search of the glamorous life. With nothing more than his boyish charm, a big imagination and millions of dollars in forged checks, Frank successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor and a lawyer — living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams ... opening at the
Segerstrom Center for the Arts(in Costa Mesa), playing 6/25-30th.

Now, right here locally - The
national tour of the hilarious
new show YOU SAY TOMATO,
I SAY SHUT-UP! a comedy that
People magazine called "LAUGH
OUT LOUD!", continues its
national tour with a premiere in
San Diego at downtown's Lyceum
Theatre, 79 Horton Plaza,
July 24th - August 18th.
Written by award-winning authors
Annabelle Gurwitch and Jeff Kahn,
directed by Van Kaplan, and will be
starring Robin Abramson and Gregory
Johnstone, this 75-minute
tour-de-force looks to be a hilarious
comedy about relationships, love and
marriage ... you'll find more up-to-date
information at ...

"You say Tomato, I say Shut-Up!"
Speaking of the Lyceum Theatre,
word-has-it that local director
Ric Henry, will be staging a
Proud Voice Production of
"A Fundamental Change" Musical,
for a brief engagement on
Sept 19th thru 25th also at the
Lyceum ... with many, unexpected
new musical shows coming into
San Diego, one needs to think and
plan in advance, so as not to have
missed the show - when hearing
about it later ... so again, call the
Lyceum Box Office for ticketing.
